Holborn Assets Review of Services

Holborn Assets Review of Services

Holborn Assets have been running in the UAE for almost 20 years and have grown from a one man mission into a company of more than 100+ employees. The company consists of mainly UK and European nationalities and is a financial services company.

What they offer:

  • UK Pension Transfers
  • UAE Wills
  • Life Insurance
  • Pet Insurance
  • Health Insurance
  • Investments
  • And much more.

What I went for:

I contacted Holborn Assets as I heard one of their radio adverts on Virgin Radio Dubai about transferring a UK Pension abroad, which I was very interested in. After contacting them, they arranged to meet with me at my house in 2 days.

On the day of the meeting, the Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) knocked on my door and was called Terry Dixon, who has been working as an IFA in the Middle East and UAE for many years.

Once I made some drinks we got talking about how moving my UK Pension would work and the process involved in getting it out the UK. He first had to make sure my pension met all the requirements and once he had all the details and permission from me to investigate my UK Pension, the process began.

After looking into my pension and confirming that it could be moved, he began to explain the benefits, what I would lose out on and what I would benefit from transferring my UK Pension abroad.

After getting all the details from Terry Dixon, the IFA from Holborn Assets, I confirmed with him that I do want my pension moving. I had to sign a few papers, give permission to certain government agencies and then sit back and wait for my pension to be moved abroad. It took a few weeks and once it was done I then began discussing investment opportunities with Holborn Assets, as I now had a cash full of money sitting in a pension abroad.

Ratings: 10 is best & 1 is worst.

How did the company look? (9 out of 10)
When I first visited their office, the company looks very modern, professional and they even have two big flat screen TV's in the reception............with the financial news of course.

Reception? (10 out of 10)
When I first contacted Holborn Assets, I spoke to the receptionist who I believe was called Tima (apologies if I spelt that wrong). She was very professional, clear and put me through to an excellent IFA who dealt with all my pension needs.

Customer Service? (10 out of 10)
I can't speak on behalf of the customer service too much within the office, as I only visited it once for about 10 mins to pick up some documents. Regarding the customer service of my IFA, it was very good. He answered every single question I had (and trust me I had a lot), he was on time to meet me for our first meeting at my house and he even asked if shoes where allowed to be worn in the house before entering.

Cost? (7 out of 10)
The price was reasonable, although it did cost a little to transfer my UK Pension. But I am still very happy I did it.

Timing? (10 out of 10)
I got put through to an IFA (Terry Dixon) in less than a minute when speaking to reception, he turned up at 10am sharp for the meeting at my place and he transferred my pension in amazing time.

Communication: (9 out of 10)
Terry Dixon was great at keeping me in the loop every step of the way, although he was ill one day and I am a very harsh marker, so would have to give him a 9, sorry Terry.

Would I use Holborn Assets again?
YES!

Would I recommend Holborn Assets to a friend?
YES!

Any tips for when I go to use them?
Ask for Terry Dixon, I'm sure all the IFA's are great, but I used him and he was great!
